Device for sealing binding thread

A method for improving the heat sealing of the binding threads (12) in a book binding process has the heating element (24) moving at the same speed as the binding sites, in a continuous manufacturing process. The synchronisation of the heating element with the binding site is achieved by one of several methods including; rotating heating rollers, a circulating belt feed, a reciprocating drive for the heating elements etc. The process does not drag the binding material nor does it shear off the binding elements.
