摘要 PURPOSE: A TFT-LCD(Thin Film Transistor Liquid Crystal Display) using black resin is provided to improve the aperture ratio of a reflective electrode, and to use the area of the reflective electrode as a display area to the maximum by removing a black matrix on an upper substrate with a passivation layer made of black resin available for cutting off light. CONSTITUTION: A TFT-LCD consists of upper/lower substrates(120,100) and an LC layer(130) charged between the two substrates and aligned depending on an electric field to adjust the refractive index of light. A gate insulating film(105) and a passivation layer(112) are layered on the lower substrate, and a reflective electrode(114) is formed on the passivation layer to feed an electric field to the LC. A data line(106) is formed between the passivation layer and the gate insulating layer and overlapped with both ends of the reflective electrode. The passivation layer is made of black resin to cut off light to the other parts except a pixel part from outside. A color filter layer(122) having no black matrix is formed at the lower part of the upper substrate, and a transparent electrode(124) is formed at the lower part of the color filter layer. The manufacturing process of the color filter is simplified through formation of the passivation layer with black resin.
