PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for producing feed from food waste by subjecting food waste to passing through a series of compression, steaming, drying, cooling and foreign material separation processes are provided, thereby automatically mass-producing feed within a short time. CONSTITUTION: Food waste is introduced into a hopper(2) by the operation of a hopper opening and closing cylinder(1), compressed in a compressor(6) and steamed in a steamer(5), followed by dying in a drier(12). The dried food waste is subjected to passing through a cyclone(31) and a condenser(32) to separate condensate water, which is stored in a condensate water tank temporarily and then sent to a waste water treating pond(33). The dried food waste is separated from foreign material in a foreign material separator(22) and metal material is also separated in a magnetic separator(24) while removing a bad smell in a cyclone(36).
