<p>PURPOSE: A device and a method for transmitting an image in a video conference system are provided to efficiently transmit images in a meeting, a conference or a workshop by separately transmitting the images of a material and an addresser. CONSTITUTION: An image transmission device comprises an A/D(Analog to Digital) converter(201) converting analog addresser image data to digital image data, a scaler(202) scaling the image data in a proper size, a filtering and scaling unit(203) removing noises in material image data transmitted via a beam projector and scaling the material image data in a proper size, a difference element sampling unit(204) sampling the difference elements between the addresser image data and the material image data, a binary imaging unit(205) outputting a binary image by setting up a first critical value of the addresser image data, a filtering unit(206) filtering to obtain the region corresponding to an addresser by setting up a second critical value, a compressive encoding unit(207) compressing and encoding the addresser image data obtained via the filtering unit, and a first interface(208) interfacing the material image data and the addresser image data through a communications network. After separately obtaining the images of a material and an addresser, the images are mixed with each other and projected on a screen via the beam projector. Therefore, a band width is reduced in data transmission.</p> |
