An anti-theft arrangement for a vehicle with seats which are slidable forwards and backwards. The arrangement operates by preventing access to the driver's seat, steering wheel and foot control pedals when the seat is slid forward to its furthest extent. The front of the driver's seat base is replaced by a metal panel, having a central aperture large enough to accommodate the foot control pedals and two smaller apertures incorporating a locking mechanism to the left and right of the larger aperture. Catches are welded to the floor of the vehicle to the left and right of the foot control pedals. These engage the locking mechanisms in the front panel of the seat when the seat is pushed forwards to its furthest extent. Extended runners allow the seat to be pushed forward further than is normally possible. The catches can be released by use of a combination lock located to the right side of the driver's seat. |
