REEL BRAKE SYSTEM OF TAPE RECORDER

PURPOSE: A reel brake system of a tape recorder is provided to keep the braked state of a reel disc assembly promptly and exactly even though a tape recorder is used for a long time. CONSTITUTION: A reel brake system(60) is mounted on a deck(100) to provide braking force to a reel disc assembly(50). The reel disc assembly consists of a reel gear(52) mounted on a shaft(53) of the deck rotatably and a reel disc(51) accepting a reel of a tape cassette. The reel brake system includes a gear member(70), a clutch member(80), a clutch spring and a plate(63). If the reel disc assembly is changed to RPS(Reverse Play Search) from play, the gear member is inhibited from rotating by the clutch spring wound upon the clutch member. The reel gear is not rotated. Therefore, the reel disc assembly is braked promptly and exactly.
