PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of suppressing the generation of malodors by ammonia and amines, more particularly the generation of the ammonia in composting process at a low cost without exerting an adverse influence on microorganisms contributing to decomposition. SOLUTION: Compost raw materials are subjected to composting by mixing the intermediately treated compost of the process of performing the composting treatment by mixing a polymer material, for example, polycaprolactone which forms an organic acid by decomposition during the course of composting with the compost raw materials.
