PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high resolution printing by a printer alone without increasing storage capacity of an image buffer in the printer and the number of times data are transferred between a host computer and the printer. SOLUTION: Print data received from the outside are interpreted and developed and stored as primary data, and printing is executed on a displaced position n times (n>=2) based on the same primary data. A method of displacing a printing position may be one by which, the amount of displacement of a printing position is computed, and printing is executed while controlling the timing of starting printing based on the amount of displacement or one by which the amount of displacement of a printing position is computed, image data of n kinds are generated based on nonprinting information and the primary data in accordance with the amount of displacement and printing is executed based on each of the image data. The amount of displacement of each printing position can be given by i/(output resolution)(wherein 0<=1<n, and i is an integer). |
