PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceramic roll capable of rolling a sheet, a bar or a foil small in surface roughness and hardly causing roll marks, to provide a grinding method of the roll and to provide a grinding wheel used for the method. SOLUTION: In the ceramic roll 1 which is used when the sheet, bar or foil consisting of copper or a copper alloy is cold-rolled and whose rolling surface 2 is formed of ceramics, the center line average roughness Ra measured in the axial direction of the ceramic roll concerning the rolling surface 2 is defined as <=0.1μm and the maximum roughness Rmax is <=0.6μm.
