PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing 2-vinylcyclododecanone, by which the 2-vinylcyclododecanone can safely be produced by using 2- ethylidenecyclododecanone in a good yield in simple processes not containing a washing process, a solvent-recovering process, and the like, without using a solvent having a problem in safety, wherein the 2-ethylidenecyclododecanone can simply be produced from cyclododecanone in a high yield without passing through a chlorination process. SOLUTION: This process for producing the 2-vinylcyclododecanone is characterized by isomerizing the 2-ethylidenecyclododecanone represented by formula (1) (the waved line shows that the double bond is an E-bond, a Z-bond or a mixture of the E-bond with the Z-bond) in the presence of a catalyst and then fractionating out the 2-vinylcyclododecanone represented by formula (2) from the reaction product.
