SUPPORTED CATALYST FOR MANUFACTURING SYNDIOTACTIC POLYSTYRENE IN HIGH YIELD WITH LITTLE DEPOSITS ON REACTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a catalyst for manufacturing a syndiotactic polystyrene with a dramatically reduced amount of deposits on a reactor. SOLUTION: This supported catalyst is composed of a polymer 2, a support 1 and a transition metal compound 3. The polymer 2 coats the surface of the support 1 and acts as an intermedium or an insulation layer material between the support 1 and the transition metal compound 3. Optionally, an alkyl aluminoxane and/or an alkyl aluminum compound can be added to the catalyst as a cocatalyst.
