PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for snow melting for rolling stock at a low cost without requiring a wide installation area. SOLUTION: In this snow melting method for the rolling stock, a molten snow disposal place 1 allowing rolling stock 3 for melting snow to be carried thereinto is divided into a plurality of districts 26a, 26b, and 26c, and the molten snow fluid supplied by a common pump 14 is ejected in order into the districts while switching for the molten snow disposal of the rolling stock. A molten snow fluid ejection part (header 20) is disposed in each divided district formed by dividing the molten snow disposal place allowing the rolling stock for snow melting to be carried thereinto into a plurality of districts. The device comprises a common pump for supplying the molten snow fluid to the molten snow fluid injection part in each divided district and a valve 24 for switching in order the ejection districts for the molten snow fluid supplied from the common pump in units of the divided districts. Then, the molten snow disposal of the rolling stock is performed while switching the ejection districts by the valve.
