METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ETHYLENE/VINYL ACETATE COPOLYMER RESIN COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) resin composition which solves the problem of the nonuniformity of a boron compound concentration in the EVOH and fish eyes to be frequently caused on melt-molding the EVOH to deteriorate long-run properties as well when the EVOH is treated with the boron compound. SOLUTION: An EVOH and a solution containing a boron compound are continuously supplied to a treating vessel and brought into contact with each other in the treating vessel, and an EVOH in contact with the above solution having a boron compound concentration of 0.7 to 1.3 times the solution equilibrium concentration (CeqSL) is continuously taken out of the treating vessel. Thus, an EVOH resin composition whose boron compound equilibrium concentration is the resin equilibrium concentration (CeqEV) corresponding to the above CeqSL can be obtained. The CeqSL and CeqEV are respective boron compound concentrations when the EVOH is dipped in the solution containing a boron compound and the boron compound is equilibrated between the EVOH and the solution.
