SACCHARIDE CHAIN CALCITONIN DERIVATIVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a novel conjugated glycopeptide derivative obtained by adding a saccharide chain to calcitonin which is a calcium-controlling hormone. SOLUTION: This invention relates to 1) a calcitonin derivative in which an N-bond type saccharide chain is added to the glutamine residual group in the 14 position or in the 20 position of the calcitonin; 2) a method for producing a calcitonin derivative in which an N-bond type saccharide chain is added to the glutamine residual group in the 14 or 20 position thereof by rearranging the saccharide chain of a conjugated glycopeptide to the calcitonin to which N-acetyl-D-glucosamine is added to the glutamine residue in the 14 or 20 position in the presence of endoglycosidase. The calcitonin derivative of high effectiveness, having improved in vivo stability and improved pharmacological action is obtained by adding the saccharide chain to the calcitonin.
