PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering column mounting structure capable of temporarily fixing or temporarily holding an upper end side part of a steering column when mounting the steering column for improving mounting workability. SOLUTION: This steering column mounting structure has the upper end side part of the steering column 1 mounted on a car body side by having a column upper end side mounting bracket 9 fixed on the upper end side part 1b of the steering column 1 supporting rotatably a steering shaft 2 and by having a car body side mounting bracket 28 fixed on a supporting member 10 arranged on the car body side to have the column upper end side mounting bracket 9 mounted on the car body side mounting bracket 28. A mounting piece part 20 mounted on the column upper end side mounting bracket 9 is placed on an upper face 29a side of a column mounting part 29 mounted on the car body side mounting bracket 28 for having the mounting piece part 20 mounted on the column mounting part 29.
