PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking stick functioning as a sufficient standing aid with a large stroke with reduced operation force at the time of contraction. SOLUTION: In the main body A of the walking stick, a piston 4 is mounted inside an extensible cylindrical body 3 comprised of an inner cylinder 1 on the lower side and an outer cylinder 2 on the upper side to form gas rooms C1 and C2 sectioned on both sides, and the top end of a piston rod 5 connected upward to the piston 4 is fixed to a handle 7 attached at the upper end of the outer cylinder. A communicating passage 8 and a spool 9 for opening/closing the passage are mounted on the piston 4 of the main body A, and the main body A is extended by making the gas rooms C1 and C2 on both sides communicate with each other by operating a push-rod 10 with an operation lever 11 and opening the spool 9. |
