METHOD FOR PRODUCING FILM WITH GAS BARRIER PROPERTY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a film having excellent gas barrier property even under a high humidity and excellent in transparency even in case of using a low-melting thermoplastic resin such as a polypropylene film. SOLUTION: This method for producing a film with gas barrier property is characterized by comprising the following process: at least one side of a thermoplastic resin film is coated with a coating liquid prepared by mixing a polyvinyl alcohol-based resin, a silicon alkoxide, a lower alcohol, water and a silicon alkoxide hydrolysis catalyst together so as to be (100:300) to (100:600) in the weight ratio of the polyvinyl alcohol-based resin to the silicon alkoxide to hydrolyze the silicon alkoxide followed by removing the above catalyst, and the resultant coated film is dried.
