PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a winder safely performing works by surely stopping at a time when a rotary drum should be stopped for changing a stage. SOLUTION: This winder for a long material is provided with an inner drum 104 for winding the long material, a rotary frame 11 with a drum part 100 having flames 105 and 106 for determining a winding width fitted thereto, a drive part 20 controlling the rotation of the rotary frame, and a lock part 30 abutting on the rotary frame so as to restrict the rotation. It is characterized in that the inner drum and the rotary frame are stopped in changing the stage of the flanges and at a prescribed position for the works respectively, and the lock part is engaged with an engagement counterpart 107 of the rotary frame.
