PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide bristles for a brush which has a strongly flexible root and a soft tip, is excellent in cleaning effect and less easily damages any stuff to be cleaned. SOLUTION: Cut bristles 2 of polyester mono filament have a multi-leaf section comprising a center part and a plurality of projecting parts having a longer diameter than the center part and swollen from the center part, the cut bristles 2 have a pointed part 3 at least on one end, and the pointed part 3 is divided into a plurality of branched parts 4. The bristles are useful for a toothbrush, a cosmetic brush, a body brush, a writing brush, etc.
