PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material for removing exhaust gas which may efficiently and surely remove or reduce exhaust gas exhausted from automobiles or plants, does not generate any cracks, etc., on the coated film and retains its action over a long time, a process for its application and a coated article for removing exhaust gas. SOLUTION: The coating material for removing exhaust gas comprises a silicone resin and a photocatalytic material prepared by combining titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, wherein the weight ratio of titanium dioxide to zinc oxide is from 1 to 15. In the process for applying the coating material for removing exhaust gas, the coating material is repetitively applied to and dried on a substrate to form multiple coated layers laminated on each other. Here, the total weight concentration of titanium dioxide to zinc oxide in the coating materials used for forming the coated layers is successively increased toward the top. The coated article for removing exhaust gas is manufactured by applying the coating material via the above process. |
