PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a can lid improved in a finger catching properties while securing a pressure-resistant strength and handling properties. SOLUTION: In a can lid main body, an annular groove 3 is formed, and an inner peripheral side farther inside than the annular groove 3 is used as a central panel portion. The central panel portion is provided with an opening piece surrounded by a score formed along the shape of a mouthpiece and a tab 8 for cutting and opening the score with its one end. A finger catching recess 12 independent of the annular groove 3 is formed on the opposite side of the central panel portion with the tab 8 therebetween with respect to the opening piece. The depth H of the finger catching recess 12 is made within a range of 0.8-0.9 mm. A wall face opposed to the tab 8 is made to be an introducing part 13 inclined within a range of 16-22 deg. with respect to a bottom face 12a. Further, the length I of the introducing part 13 from the end on the side of the bottom face 12a to the end on the side of a panel face 5a when it is viewed from the plane thereof is made within a range of 2.2-2.5 mm.
