PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To remarkably improve cleaning efficiency, to remarkably reduce the installation area for a cleaning device and to remove water insoluble foreign substance on cloth or feather. SOLUTION: In the device for cleaning the cloth in which a cleaning liquid jetting unit 23 and a suction device 30 for a cleaning liquid are arranged in one side and the opposite side of the traveling cloth F respectively and the cleaning liquid is passed through the cloth in the thickness direction and removed, the suction device 30 is formed by arranging suction nozzles 33a each shaped projecting into a projecting line parallel to the width direction on several places in the peripheral direction of a suction pipe long in the width direction, several pieces of the suction devices are arranged on the front and back alternately along the traveling direction of the cloth and a guide device is provided to bring the front surface of the cloth into contact successively with the tips of several nozzles 33a in the front side of the suction device and to bring the back surface of the cloth F into contact successively with the tips of several nozzles 33a in the back side of the suction device 30.
