PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tubular member having stable quality and high texture feeling at a low cost by improving dryability while holding texture feeling of an original Japanese lacquer, preventing a hardness deficiency, a wrinkle of a coating film at a drying time, color tone or gloss unevenness or the like, improving water resistance and scuff resistance and further improving a yield of a manufacturing step of a fishing rod. SOLUTION: The tubular member (1) comprises a coating film layer (2) formed at an outside of a tubular member (1) body, and a Japanese lacquer layer (3) obtained by mixing a synthetic resin curing agent and/or a synthetic resin curing auxiliary accelerator as well as a synthetic resin curing auxiliary material with a natural lacquer material and provided on the layer (2). A method for manufacturing the tubular member comprises a step of forming the coating film layer at the outside of the tubular member body (1), a step of forming the Japanese lacquer layer (3) by coating a Japanese lacquer paint obtained by mixing the synthetic resin curing agent and/or the synthetic resin curing auxiliary accelerator as well as the synthetic resin curing auxiliary material with the natural lacquer material on the coating film layer (2), a step of curing a humidified Japanese lacquer layer (3), and a step of curing and drying the layer (3) by heating or emitting a light.
