PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a new oxide superconductor by which the crystal growing rate of a Bi2Sr2CaCu2OX compound superconductor can be significantly improved, the synthesizing time for the superconductor can be reduced, the superconducting characteristics can be improved and the crystal size can be increased. SOLUTION: In the manufacture of the superconductor essentially comprising a Bi2Sr2CaCu2OX compound superconductor phase, the oxygen partial pressure of the calcination atmosphere in the heat treatment to generate the crystallization heat is controlled to over 0.50 bar and <=0.90 bar.
