PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slot die coating device, which does not cost much and has no danger of inflammability and explosion, capable of suppressing the generation of dry caked substance from a coating solution at the lip end of the downstream to provide a coated film surface with no scoreline. SOLUTION: In a slot die coating device 1 that applies a coating solution discharged from a slit 32 between an upstream lip 22 and a downstream lip 24 onto a running web-like substrate 10, an air suction device 40 is equipped thereto at the vicinity to the end 24a of the downstream lip 24, and further, shield boards 42, 44 are provided at the upper part or on both sides of the web-like substrate 10 just after the application of coating thereto.
