PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve control property and safety property of an electric power steering device by controlling the same with two CPUs or MCUs of main and sub. SOLUTION: In a control device for an electric power steering device controlling a motor based on a steering assist command value calculated based on a steering torque generated on a steering shaft and an electric current control value calculated from an electric current value to the motor applying a steering assist force to a steering mechanism, a first control part and a second control part controlling the motor are provided. The second control part watches the first control part calculating the steering assist command value and performing motor drive control, based on a calculated electric current command value, and the function of the second control part watching the first control part is restricted in a condition that the first control part does not control the steering assist command value. |
