PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet printer capable of automatically locking in a state in which a used cartridge in a printing head is removed and an unused cartridge is prevented from slipping off to the printing head. SOLUTION: A cartridge collection mechanism part 2 has a collection hook part constituted to be movable in an up-down direction so as to pull the used cartridge 5a right up from the printing head 6. A cartridge loading mechanism part 3 is a mechanism for dropping and loading the unused cartridge 5b to the emptied printing head 6. The cartridge loading mechanism part loads the unused cartridge 5b to the printing head 6 by retracting a partition plate 9 supporting the preliminarily set cartridge 5b at a bottom face. A cartridge lock mechanism part 4 has two pairs of rotatable pressing hooks for locking the dropped and loaded unused cartridge 5b in the state in which the cartridge is prevented from slipping off to the printing head 6. |
