PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To safely travel forward and backward at a desired speed. SOLUTION: In a lift truck having an operation arm 13 extending backward from a self traveling truck main body 3 arranging a lift 7 on a front part thereof and changing a traveling direction of the truck main body 3 by a swing of the operation arm 13 in left or right, handles 14A, 14B are pivotally attached to a tip part of the operation arm 13 through a pivot shaft with allowing pivotal movement within a fixed range in a forward and a backward directions, and a potentiometer 17 detecting a rotation of the handle parts 14A, 148 is provided. The truck main body 3 is traveled forward (a) or backward (b) according to a detected signal from the potentiometer 17.
