PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for synthesizing laser beams, which generates a high quality and high powered laser beam suitable for machining a thick plate by synthesizing low powered laser beams. SOLUTION: An object W to be machined is irradiated with a high powered laser beam which is made by synthesizing plural low powered laser beams by so forming the device that the optical axes of the plural laser beams B1 and B2 pass through near the center O of a single condenser lens L and the contours of the respective laser beams nearly overlap on the surface of the condenser lens L.
