This invention is an apparatus for displaying collections of photographs, ar t works in sheet or card form, and other display items. The display apparatus is comprised of a display panel of transparent sheet material which is stiff or rigid, such as glass, plexiglass, acrylic or plastic, and one or more retainers affixed to the rear surface of the display panel. The apparatus can be made with wall mount slots or attachments for wall mounting or can be made with a base stand for free-standing configurations. This display apparatus accommodates display items of various sizes and shapes and provides for the easy and fast removal and placement of display items without the use of tools of any kind. The display items merely slip in and out of the retainers through use of fingers alon e.
