CHANNEL ESTIMATING AND COMPENSATING APPARATUS AND METHOD IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A channel estimating and compensating apparatus and method in a mobile communication system is provided to perform a rapid and effective estimation by using an FIR filter and have a better effect in case of a system such as an IMT-2000 where band spreading is mostly performed. CONSTITUTION: A CPICH back diffusion unit(100) performs a back diffusion of complex type by using an OVSF(Orthogonal Variable Spreading Factor) and a scrambling code of a corresponding cell for identification of a CPICH(Common PIlot CHannel) to use a reference phase of the CPICH among received signals. The first integrating unit(101) integrates/dumps the data of the back-diffused CPICH and obtains a CPICH data symbol prior to a band spreading modulation in a base station. A multiplexer(102) performs multiplying by using a signal outputted from the first integrating unit(101) and (A)*=1-j, a complex utilization of the symbol outputted from a CPICH pattern coupling unit(103). A low-pass filter(104) reduces an interference noise and a thermal noise of the signal outputted from the multiplexer(102). A channel decoder(109) receives a signal which has passed a DPCH(Dedicated Physical data CHannel) back diffusion unit(106) and the second integrating unit(107) and a signal obtained by performing a complex multiplication in the multiplexer(108) and corrects an error. The DPCH back diffusion unit(106) performs a back diffusion by using the allocated OVSF code for identification of the DPDCH of a mobile station and a scrambling code of its own cell. The second integrating unit(107) performs a complex-integrating/dumping and obtains a data signal related to a subscriber's service transmitted from a base station. The multiplexer(108) compensates the phase, and then is multiplied by a channel estimated signal outputted from the coupling unit(105) to compensate a distortion of an amplitude and a phase in a channel decoder(109).
