PURPOSE: An engine starting control apparatus according to turning a passenger seat in a vehicle is provided to prevent accidents by shutting off power to a starter of an engine in turning a passenger seat, and by restricting turn of the passenger seat in starting the engine. CONSTITUTION: An engine starting controller is composed of a seat turn detecting switch(1), a relay(2), a frequency/voltage converter(3), and a seat lock actuator(4). The seat turn detecting switch is turned on in placing a passenger seat(7) at the regular position, and a vehicle is started in turning on the relay. The seat turn detecting switch is turned off in turning the passenger seat, and power supplied to a starter(6) of an engine(5) is shut off with turning off the relay. Traveling of the vehicle is prevented in turning the passenger seat. RPM(Revolution Per Minute) of the engine is input to the frequency/voltage converter in starting the engine, and transmitted to the seat lock actuator by converting into the voltage. Turn of the seat is prevented with locking a seat turning unit by operating the seat lock actuator. The passenger seat is turned with operating the seat turning unit in turning off the engine. An accident is prevented with preventing traveling of the vehicle in turning the passenger seat.
