PURPOSE: A vehicle with a protective sun shade in a roof is provided to remote-control the sun shade or the window shade in a roof by installing essential parts in the roof and by arranging the greater part in the roof of the motor vehicle. CONSTITUTION: A vehicle is equipped with a protective sun shade, and essential mechanical elements are installed inside a roof formed above the headliner. The protective sun shade is moved from guide rails. A sun shade web(14) is sufficiently rigid, and the front edge of the sun shade web is supported with a guide and push rods(42,43). The front or lower edge(21) is held in contact with each pane. A gear motor(25) is provided for retracting and extending the window shade web. The window shade is used instead of a sun visor in a windshield or a side door.
