PURPOSE: A method for using a sapphire lens is provided, which can obtain a minute image under a high temperature and can make a compact apparatus and can improve an endurance of a product, in the apparatus including the lens. CONSTITUTION: In an apparatus using a lens under an environment where a heat is generated, the lens is formed with a sapphire lens fabricated using a sapphire as a material, The apparatus can be an OHP(OverHead Projector), a slide projector and a projection apparatus. The temperature under the environment is above 40 deg.C. According to the projector, a light source(1) is incident on a focusing lens(3) and is focused on a mirror(4) and is reflected. And the light is projected through a projection lens(6) via an LCD panel(5). A heat of a high temperature is transferred to the LCD panel, and the light penetrating the LCD panel is incident on the projection lens with a heat of a high temperature. Thus, the focusing lens and the projection lens are constituted with the sapphire lens.
