PURPOSE: A squeal noise reduction device for a brake and a method thereof are provided to improve the quality by reducing squeal noise with regulating braking pressure in detecting noise according to accumulated energy from vibration in braking. CONSTITUTION: A brake system is composed of a master cylinder(12) generating braking pressure by interlocking with a brake pedal(10); a brake line(14) supplying braking pressure from the master cylinder to wheels(16); and a brake unit braking wheels with braking pressure through the brake line. A squeal noise reducing device of the brake system consists of a vibration detecting sensor(18) installed in the brake unit to detect vibration in braking, a microphone mounted around a driver's seat to detect noise in braking, a control valve(22) regulating braking pressure from the master cylinder, and a control unit outputting an operating signal to the control valve to intermit braking pressure to the brake unit in detecting squeal noise in case of noise and vibration frequency to be over the reference value. Noise is prevented with operating the brake intermittently.
