PURPOSE: A channel coding/decoding apparatus and method of a CDMA mobile communication system are provided to improve error correction performance by obtaining an optimum minimum distance by optimally coding and decoding a transmission format combination display bit in a narrow band CDMA mobile communication system of time division duplex method. CONSTITUTION: Linearly independent kth vectors, v0, v1, ..., vt-1, of t number are selected(500). Every possible linear combinations are calculated for the selected t number of kth vectors v0, v1,..., vt-1(510). A punch position pi is obtained for the every possible 2t number of linear combinations as calculated(520). |
