PURPOSE: To provide a recorder by which information can be recorded on a DVD-R along real time so that the information can be reproduced by a player for a reproduction-only DVD with information recorded thereon regardless of real time. CONSTITUTION: When information is recorded on a DVD-R1R conforming to a DVD video standard consisting of at a least at VTS including a VOBS to be reproduced and the VTSI concerned, and a VMGI for controlling the reproduction of one or more VTSs, the VTS is recorded on the DVD-R1R, and after recording of VTS, a temporary VMGI which corresponds to the recorded VTS and which is temporary control information for forming the VMGI later and recording it on the DVD-R1R is generated. The generated temporary VMGI is recorded on the DVD-R1R, whenever the VTS is recorded on the DVD-R1R.
