PURPOSE: A bracket of a steering column for a vehicle is provided to absorb shock by installing a buffering unit in a bracket, and to improve safety by absorbing impact from the steering column efficiently. CONSTITUTION: A bracket(40) of a steering column for a vehicle is composed of a contact part(70) fixed in a vehicle body with a through hole; a lower pipe(52) inserted to the through hole; an upper pipe(51) connected to the lower pipe to form a sill; a buffering unit(60) extended from the upper pipe, and fixed in the contact part; and an auxiliary buffering part(80) having a guide ring(81) installed in the outer periphery of the lower pipe to slide, and a buffering bar(82) extended at both sides of the guide ring and fixed in the contact part. Impact is absorbed with contracting the steering column at a collision, and transmitted to the bracket. Shock is absorbed with the buffering unit and a connecting pipe, and impact is absorbed secondly with moving down the guide ring of the auxiliary buffering part. Safety is improved with absorbing impact in two steps.
