PURPOSE: A short message transferring method in a mobile communication terminal is provided to accomplish a user's convenience by automatically generating and sending a message regardless of the number of characters, facilitate simultaneous transmission of a message to many receivers, and easily find an e-mail address through a phone-book. CONSTITUTION: A controller is in a standby state(200). The controller checks whether a key signal is received according to a text editing(202). If a signal according to a text editing is received, the controller performs a sentence editing mode(204). The controller checks whether an event occurs(206). If no event occurs, the controller checks whether the sentence editing is completed(218), the controller displays a message requesting input of a call origination number(220). The controller checks whether a phone-book is selected for a view(222). If there is a request for the phone-book, the controller performs a searching mode of the phone-book(224). The controller checks whether a specific phone number or an address is selected(226). If a specific phone number of an address is selected, the controller displays a message inquiring whether a different number is to be selected on a display unit(228). If a key signal received from a key input unit does not select a different user, the controller performs a call origination corresponding to the matched number.
