PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer method by which a device able to reproduce MPEG2-TS data stored in a recording medium from an optional address of the recording medium can directly write the data to a buffer in matching with a boundary of TS packets having already be read by the buffer even when the recorded TS is not started from a head of sectors of the recording medium or there is a limit to a transfer start address able to be set to DMA (direct memory access) in the case of transfer of the data from the recording medium to the buffer. SOLUTION: In the case of reading TS data from the recording medium, a transfer start address for the DMA being a read destination is deviated.
