PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a choke coil which can prevent play during mounting, reduce a spacer, simplify the manufacturing step for reduction of cost, and ease assembling, and is excellent in mass-productivity. SOLUTION: This choke coil comprises a soft magnetic body which is almost parallelepiped cylindrical in external appearance and of which sectional shape of the cylinder is almost square, and a conductive plate 2 of which exposing over the soft magnetic body penetrates the cylinder bent at about a right angle. The soft magnetic body comprises a U-shaped magnetic core 3 and an I-shaped magnetic core 1 which are joined opposite to each other, a part of either of joint surfaces of the cores 1 and 3 or a part of both surfaces is provided with a recessed air gap, and a face-to-face distance of the conductive plate 2 inside the cylinder of the soft magnetic body is almost the same as that of the inner wall of the cylinder.
