PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a magnetic recording medium, capable of performing recording/reproducing more accurately and stably by solving the problem of deformation caused by thermal deformation generated in the magnetic recording medium such as a Floppy (registered trade mark) disk in actual use. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of the magnetic recording medium has a process to execute, before actual use, a heat treatment for a coated floppy disk 3 under a heat treatment condition for suppressing thermal contraction in the actual use, for example, at a temperature of 80-90 deg.C for 24 hours or more.
