PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a connecting structure of a leader tape and leading piece of a tape cartridge of a single reel type provided with the leading piece at a delivery end of the leader tape. SOLUTION: The leader tape 9 is connected to a pin 14 of the leading piece 13 by means of the connecting piece 10 made of plastic. The connecting piece 10 has a bearing part 31 detained to the pin 14 and a joining part 32 for joining the leader tape 9 and the joining part 32 is projectingly provided with a caulking projection 33. After the connecting piece 11 disposed at the leader tape 9 is engaged with the caulking projection 33, the caulking projection 33 is melted and deformed, by which the leader tape 9 and the connecting piece 10 are connected. The pin 14 is press fitted and engaged with the bearing part 31 and both are relatively rotatably connected. The abrupt change in the posture of the leading tape 13 when the leading piece 13 transfers together with a capturing body H in the transfer route within a tape drive is absorbed by the relative rotational motion of the connecting piece 10 and the pin 14 and the lessening of the tape resistance before the leading piece 13 is loaded to a reel on a tape drive side is made possible.
