PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording cleaning tape having excellent electromagnetic transducing characteristics and a cleaning effect. SOLUTION: In the magnetic recording cleaning tape, a cleaning layer is formed by a coating film containing at least magnetic powder and an abrasive material on a non-magnetic substrate and the film thickness of the cleaning layer is specified to be in a range of 150-300% of the mean particle size of the abrasive material.
