PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid heat sink, having a superior heat dissipating property which uses a carbon fiber compound material. SOLUTION: Carbon fiber 4 is oriented uniaxially vertically with respect to a face 5 to be mounted with a heating element, such as a semiconductor and compounds to form a carbon fiber composite 2. A metal body 3, having high thermal conductivity is, jointed around the carbon fiber compound material 2 to fabricate the hybrid heat sink. As a result this structure, heat from a heat generating element is transferred efficiently in the thickness direction of the carbon fiber compound material 2 and is then transmitted also to the metal body 3 jointed around the carbon fiber compound material 2, to be properly diffused well. A joint face 6 between the carbon fiber compound material 2 and the metal body 3 is so inclined that the diameter becomes larger towards the heat generating element mounting face 5, thus increasing the area of the jointed face 6. Since the metal body 3 is disposed below the carbon fiber 4, heat transmission to the metal body 3 is facilitated more satisfactorily.
