PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonlinear distortion compensation circuit that can compensate nonlinear distortion due to high power amplification with high accuracy and small power consumption without the need for a complicated large-scale digital arithmetic circuit or pseudo distortion generating circuit or the like. SOLUTION: The nonlinear distortion compensation circuit extracts a nonlinear distortion component from a modulation signal subjected to nonlinear high output amplification, superimposes a distortion component with an inverted phase of a distortion component of a base band region that is generated by applying quadrature demodulation to the extracted distortion component and converting the resulting component into a base band signal in the base band region onto the base band signal, applies quadrature modulation to the base band signal onto which the inverted distortion component is superimposed, and applies nonlinear high power amplification to the modulated base band signal so as to cancel the nonlinear distortion caused at the nonlinear high power amplification. Thus, the nonlinear distortion compensation circuit can compensate nonlinear distortion due to high power amplification without using a complicated large-scale digital arithmetic circuit or pseudo distortion generating circuit or the like and reduce the power consumption because of its small circuit scale.
