PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head device easy to be assembled, and having a novel structure capable of expediting the heat radiation of an IC chip, and to provide a magnetic disc device equipped with the same. SOLUTION: This magnetic head device is provided with a magnetic head slider having at least a thin film magnetic head element, a suspension having the magnetic head slider loaded on one surface, an IC chip having a circuit for the thin film magnetic head element, and a supporting arm for fixing and supporting the suspension. The IC chip is loaded on one surface of the suspension and thermally coupled to the supporting arm.
