PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head having the fixed magnetic layer of a laminated type, capable of effectively operating magnetic fixation on the fixed magnetic layer. SOLUTION: This magnetic head manufacturing method includes a heating step of heating a magnetic head from the outside by using a heater, and a current applying step of applying a current to the lead of the magnetic head simultaneously with the heating of the magnetic head in the heating step. In the current applying step, the magnetic head is heated by heat generated when a current applied by an electric conduction circuit flows through the lead to a magneto-resistive film, and this heat combined with the heat from the heating step increases the temperature of a magnetic fixation layer equal to/higher than a blocking temperature. The magnetization of a ferromagnetic layer is firmly fixed by adding current magnetization generated from the magneto- resistive film to the ferromagnetic layer of the magnetic fixation layer.
