PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a connecting structure of a leader tape and leading piece of a tape cartridge of a single reel type. SOLUTION: The leader tape 9 is connected to a pin 24 of the leading piece 13 by means of a press formed connecting piece 10. The connecting piece 10 has a bearing part 31 detained to the pin 14, grasping walls 32 and 32 for holding and fixing the leader tape 9 and a caulking piece 34 disposed at the one grasping wall 32. The bearing part 31 is detained to the pin 14 and the leader tape 9 is held between both grasping walls 32 and 32 and the caulking piece 34 is caulked and deformed, by which the leader tape 9 and the pin 14 are connected with the connecting piece 10. The connecting piece 10 and the pin 14 are adapted to be made relatively rotatable. The abrupt change in the posture of the leading tape 13 when the leading piece 13 transfers together with a capturing body H in the transfer route within a tape drive is absorbed by the relative rotational motion of the connecting piece 10 and the pin 14. As a result, the tape resistance before the leading piece 13 is loaded to a reel may be lessened.
