PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic electroluminescent element with long emission life and excellent durability. SOLUTION: The organic electroluminescent element has at least one layer held between a pair of electrodes containing at least one kind of compound shown by the formula (1), where; Ar1-Ar3 represent biphenyl groups with or without substitution, and Ar4 represents a phenyl group with or without substitution or a naphtyl group with or without substitution, independently with each other.
